Confirming the project would take six years to complete, De Niro said Manchester had "real character, creative, passionate and strong".
Manchester recently played host to a star-studded event as renowned actor Robert De Niro was in town for the much-anticipated launch of NOBU Manchester, as construction of the citys newest skyscraper begins.
This exquisite addition to the city’s developing property scene has generated significant buzz, especially given De Niro's deep connection to the NOBU brand. As a co-founder, his presence at the event signifies the significance of this development for the City. The actor's involvement with NOBU dates back to its inception which has since developed into a luxurty global hospitality brand.
The Nobu brand was first launched by De Niro with film producer Meir Taper and celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa. They opened their first restaurant in New York in 1994 and they have since expanded their hospitality empire to dozens of cities around the world.
Manchester will become Nobu's second UK location, 35 years after it opened in London.
